Beavers are the second youngest of the Scouting movement, and generally meet for an hour per week.
Beavers began in 1986, and became the youngest section in the Scouting family since then Scouts has grown and now we have Squirrels. Beavers has now become the second youngest section accepting both boys and girls can join from around their 6th birthday and move on to Cubs when they are 8.
Beavers meet in groups called Colonies. Each Colony is part of a Scout group with Squirrel Dreys, Cub Packs, and Scout Troops, which means there’s plenty of support and space for each young person to grow.

“The best thing we did was swim in the rain. I wasn’t even sure we were allowed to, but it was brilliant! I mean we were wet anyway, so I guess it didn’t matter too much about the weather.”

Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends
